As Women’s History Month comes to a close, I wanted to share the history lessons I created for the American Federation of Teachers (AFT) Share My Lesson site.
This lesson explores the origins of Women’s History Month, from its early roots in the 1900s to its official recognition in the 1970s—highlighting how understanding this history helps us continue the fight for gender equality.
Of course, women’s history isn’t just for March—it’s essential year-round. So here’s the good news: all my history lessons focus on women, which means over there, it’s always Women’s History Month. 😉

I hope you all had a meaningful Women’s History Month! One of the highlights for me was attending an Emerge event at Gloria Steinem’s apartment—an unforgettable experience made even more special by the chance to meet and speak with Gloria herself.

I share about my experience here:
Please help spread the word about Yo, Miss!—it would mean the world to me! Every new subscriber helps grow this community, and I’d love for more people to join the conversation. 💛
You got to meet Gloria Steinem!?!!??! So amazing :)
