Fascists Flocked to NYC This Week...
While we were just trying to cope with the frigid temperatures this week, fascists flocked to New York City, f’d around, and found out.
On Thursday, January 18th, Moms For Liberty held a Town Hall on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. Hosted by Co-Founder of Moms For Liberty Tiffany Justice, it was titled “Give Parents A Voice”. However, if you are at all familiar with this extremist group, they parade around as advocates of “parental rights” but they are primarily focused on using divisive and hateful tactics to undermine the public education system. This was documented by the Southern Poverty Law Center in 2022.
So I tweeted about this on Thursday in anticipation of the event:
and Tiffany Justice responded to me (calling me Sarah) refuting my characterization of them as an extremist group.

I thought that was enough fascist field trips to New York City for the week. However, the Patriot Front decided to march in New York City on Saturday, January 20th.
It did not go so well for them:

In other news, Governor Ron DeSantis suspended his 2024 campaign on Sunday, January 21st and then used a fake Winston Churchill quote in his tweet announcing it.

In spite of the current state of the world, I rounded out this week, which was my birthday week (my birthday was on Tuesday, January 16th), feeling pretty positive about my life. The art of compartmentalizing?
