Taking a little break from posting this weekend. My next one will be reflections after seeing Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter tour.
In the meantime, here’s a somewhat hopeful message from me in these trying times:
Trump and his followers are going to lose their culture war. Right now, they’re grifting off panic and fear—terrified of the progress this country has made. Because to them, change threatens their power, or at least the illusion of it.
But the true culture of this nation—the one shaped by artists, writers, and poets—has survived worse. And this moment? It’ll only inspire more brilliance. More resistance. More art that drowns out fascism with truth and beauty.
Go to the Cowboy Carter tour. Listen to what Springsteen is saying on stage. These times will be remembered for Trump’s fascism and the cowards who executed and enabled it—but also for the artists who kept creating. The ones who reminded us who we are, and pointed to who we can still become.
Is that you cosplaying as Cowboy Carter in the middle photo? You look magnifique! Also looks like MSG though I have never visited the world's most famous arena.
